Frequently asked questions
What is Wakeprint?
Wakeprint is an alarm app for iPhone that learns which sounds work for you and picks your next one. It doesn’t track your sleep.
Each sound gets its own Wakescore, and if you get used to a sound, Wakeprint gives another sound a turn. It’s free to download, with no account and no ads, and it’s made by one independent developer.
Does Wakeprint track my sleep?
No. Wakeprint learns which sounds work for you and picks your next one. Each sound gets its own Wakescore. It’s not a sleep score.
It doesn’t listen or record while you sleep, and there’s nothing to wear.
Do I have to solve a puzzle to stop the alarm?
No. You stop it like any alarm on iPhone: no puzzle, photo or steps.
If you tend to fall back asleep, turn on Wake Rescue: a second alarm with a different sound rings a few minutes after you stop the alarm on the Lock Screen, unless you tap “I’m up”. If you want a task you can’t skip, a mission alarm fits you better.
Is Wakeprint an alarm app for heavy sleepers?
It’s made for two morning problems: getting used to your alarm sound, and stopping the alarm and falling back asleep. If you get used to a sound, Wakeprint gives another sound a turn. Turn on Wake Rescue, and a second alarm with a different sound rings a few minutes after you stop the alarm on the Lock Screen, unless you tap “I’m up”. Wake Rescue is free.
Can my alarm sound change so I don’t get used to it?
Yes. Wakeprint picks your sound each morning, and if you get used to a sound, it gives another sound a turn. Want one sound every day? Choose “One sound” in the alarm.
What if I stop the alarm and fall back asleep?
Turn on Wake Rescue for that alarm. A few minutes after you stop the alarm on the Lock Screen, a second alarm with a different sound rings, unless you tap “I’m up” first. Wake Rescue is free. With Wakeprint Pro, it can ring again every 5, 10 or 15 minutes until you tap “I’m up”, for up to an hour, and Voice Verification can ask you to say your wake phrase, or type it, before it’s canceled.
Can an alarm read a note aloud when I stop it?
Yes. Write a Morning Note in Wakeprint and hear it right after you stop the alarm. It’s read in the language you wrote it in if your iPhone has a voice for it, and otherwise in the app’s language. Morning Notes are free. With Wakeprint Pro, you can record a Voice Note in your own voice.
Does Wakeprint change when my alarm rings?
No. Your alarm rings at the time you set. Wakeprint doesn’t track your sleep, so what it picks is the sound, not the time.
When will I see results?
If you use an alarm every morning, the free plan usually shows your first Wakescore within the first week. With Pro’s larger sound library it takes about two weeks, because each sound needs a few mornings first.
Why does my alarm sound change?
Wakeprint picks your sound each morning. It tries each of your sounds first, then favors the ones that work for you, and avoids playing the same sound twice in a row. Want one sound every day? Choose “One sound” in the alarm.
Can Wake Rescue ring more than once?
Yes, with Wakeprint Pro. Turn on “Repeat until you tap I’m up” under Wake Rescue, and each time you stop it, Wake Rescue rings again at the interval you chose, with a different sound, for up to an hour. It ends when you tap “I’m up”, an hour after you stopped your alarm, or when another of your alarms is set to ring first.
Does it matter where I stop the alarm?
Yes. Stop it on the Lock Screen as usual, and Wakeprint learns from that morning. If you stop it in Wakeprint or from the Dynamic Island, Wakeprint assumes you’re already awake, so that morning isn’t counted and Wake Rescue doesn’t start. Opening Wakeprint while the alarm rings stops it the same way.
Will my alarm ring in Silent Mode or Focus?
Yes. Once you allow alarm access, your scheduled alarms ring through Silent Mode and Focus, even when Wakeprint is closed or your iPhone is locked. Notification access is separate: Wakeprint uses it for wake check-ins and optional reminders.
Is Wakeprint free?
Yes. Wakeprint is free to download, with unlimited alarms, learning across three sounds, Wake Rescue and Morning Notes, and no ads. Wakeprint Pro is an optional subscription: $5.99 a month or $24.99 a year in the US. Prices vary by country.
What does Wakeprint Pro add?
Free gives you unlimited alarms, learning across three sounds, Wakescore, Wake Rescue, Morning Notes, iCloud backup, widgets, Siri and 7-day Insights. Wakeprint Pro adds:
- all 12 sounds, plus up to five of your own
- Wake Rescue that rings again until you tap “I’m up”, for up to an hour
- Voice Notes and Voice Verification
- your full history, with 30-day, 90-day and all-time Insights
- more Wake-up Analyst topics and your own questions, on iPhones with Apple Intelligence (the Analyst answers questions about your mornings in plain words)
It’s $5.99 a month or $24.99 a year in the US. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
What do I need to use Wakeprint?
An iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Allow alarm access when Wakeprint asks, so your alarms ring through Silent Mode and Focus. There’s no Apple Watch app and no Android version.
Which languages is Wakeprint in?
13: English, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish and Turkish. Your Morning Note is read in the language you wrote it in if your iPhone has a voice for it, and otherwise in the app’s language.
Where is my data kept?
Your wake-up history, notes and recordings are stored on your iPhone. If you turn on Back up to iCloud, a copy is kept in your own iCloud, not on a Wakeprint server. You can export or delete your data in Settings › Data & privacy, and turn usage analytics off there too. Your privacy choices
